Montgomery "Scotty" Scott

Star Trek Quote of the Day:

StarTrek Birthday:

Montgomery "Scotty" Scott

Born:  February 14, 2222

In the alternate timeline created by the temporal incursion of 2233, engineer Montgomery Scott was punished with a posting at a desolate station on a frozen planet for losing Admiral Archer's beloved pet beagle in a transwarp experiment. Scott was rescued from his stalled career path when Jim Kirk arrived with an out of time ambassador Spock.  Using advanced theory that Scott would not devolop for years, he and Kirk transported back to the Enterprise where he would become a valued member of the crew. Although Scott briefly took an unselfish shore leave during the incident with Kahn in 2259, his return to the Enterprise was integral in resolving the crises caused by the former warlord and Admiral Marcus.

Uhura

Star Trek Quote of the Day:

StarTrek Birthday:

Uhuru

June 19, 2239

Following the temporal incursion of 2233, Nyota Uhura expanded her communication skills with a more active study in exolinguistics. By the time she graduated from Starfleet Academy, she was already fluent in Klingon, a language that still challenged her original timeline counterpart. This version of Uhura also shared a deeper relationship with Spock, one of her instructors at the academy. Her insistence of serving on the Enterprise saved her from dying in the destruction of the U.S.S. Farragot during the conflict with the Nerada. Following the death of Spock's home planet, Uhura continued her relationship with the Vulcan in spite of the challenges of being involved with the occasionally emotionally distant man.

Star Trek into Darkness

Star Trek Quote of the Day:

Star Trek into Darkness

Premiered June 16, 2013

When a genetically-engineered warlord from Earth's past was discovered in stasis with his followers, agents of StarFleet woke the man and conscripted him for duty. Kahn Noonien Singh was drafted by section 31 to help the Federation develop advanced weaponry with his people being held hostage to force his compliance. But Kahn rebelled against his oppressors, lauching an attack on Section 31 and StarFleet Command. The crew of the Starship Enterprise was pressed into action to stop him as well as the very head of StarFleet itself before they both destroyed the institution from within.

Hikaru Sulu

Star Trek Quote of the Day:

StarTrek Birthday:

Hikaru Sulu

Born: June 16, 2237

Hikuru Sulu was one of the cadets pressed into action straight out of the Academy when the time-traveling Romulan, Nero, attacked, the planet Vulcan. Fate placed Sulu at the helm of the mission where his lack of experience served as a blessing in disguise. A minor oversight caused the Enterprise to be slow in Warp, saving it from the initial conflict of Nero's ship that destroyed the rest of the fleet. A year later, his impressive work serving as acting captain during the conflict with Kahn Noonien Singh was one of the factors that allowed for the crews success, convincing StarFleet that the ship was ready for its five-year mission exploring deep space.
